Our Mission
Our practice is founded on truth, humility, and compassion. We create and hold safe space and work only with experienced healers and plant medicines of love and light in a supportive setting. Our atmosphere is one of deep respect and beauty. Cinco Medicos Retreats is inclusive. We offer scholarships and donate a portion of our proceeds to native plant medicine, indigenous communities, and wildlife.

Our mission is to help you revitalize, repair, and remember who you are. We wish to introduce sacred medicines and ancient practices to modern mainstream culture in a responsible way. Our retreats offer a key to sanity and well-being, with plants that reveal your own inner wisdom and power, among people who help you feel seen, heard, and loved.

At Cinco Medicos, we encourage you to dive deep into your intentions. Our sessions are intimate. Our facilitators are always present as you journey. “Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember…you are the medicine.”
Jeremy Martin
I created Cinco Medicos in the spirit of the Chavin: “for the good of all.” To open minds and awaken hearts. When I witness profound transformations, my being lights up. The more I grow and brew San Pedro, the more deeply I know the healing power of the medicine is infinite, and the more I feel the truth that when we plant the things we want to grow in the garden of our heart and mind, heaven on earth is more than possible—it is our destiny.
My plant medicine journey began after two decades of psychedelic experimentation. I began with Morning Glory seeds, a sacrament which helped heal my chronic pain, anxiety, sleep issues, panic, and grief. As my relationship with the plant deepened, I heard the message: “just plant a seed.”
I began gardening—planting herbs, flowers, and hundreds of San Pedro seeds—taking these words literally.
Mushrooms magnified my spiritual growth. After a time, the “little saints” revealed a multidimensional snake twisting in kené patterns. This was the spirit of Ayahuasca saying “jakon namikiri” — inviting me to rao nete, or the Medicine World, with which the Onanya healer communicates to help a patient.

In the Amazon, I worked with Ayahuasca under the guidance of Shipibo maestros. My curiosity about shamanism deepened. Thanks to the onayabo — “the ones who know” — I learned ancient tools and sophisticated technologies to develop a relationship with spirit plant allies during several master plant dietas.
Ultimately, my heart was called to the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the Peruvian Andes. After multiple sojourns in the home of Huachuma cactus, working alongside the paqos (shamans) and altomesayoq in the province of Ancash, I knew in my heart San Pedro was my calling. Ever since, I have devoted my life to serving cactus medicine.
I have had many teachers and mentors, native and non-native.
I was initiated by Shipibo Maestro Don Enrique at the Inkan Kena Center in the Peruvian Amazon, where I learned icaros, purgatives, vapor baths, and more. Over the years I have worked with indigenous yachaks and non-native Huachumeros (San Pedro healers) in Calca, Chaclacayo, Huaraz/Willcawain, and Chavin de Huantar, Peru.
I have worked with powerful plant spirits such as Noya Rao, Chiric Sanango, Marusa, Chuchuhuasi, mapacho, sananga, coca, and rapé. Although I am a Huachumero at heart, I am trained to facilitate Ayahuasca ceremonies in the Mahua/Lopez lineage.
My journey in mental health began at the North Suffolk Mental Health Association, where I facilitated support groups specializing in addiction treatment, mental illness, and homelessness.
I also contributed to research at UCSF’s Emotion, Health, and Psychophysiology Lab, deepening my understanding of the mind-body connection.
I am a trained wilderness therapy guide, certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and AED, from my time with True North Wilderness. There, I worked alongside master-level therapists to support families and young adults on paths of healing and growth.
Nature is my greatest teacher. The apus (mountain spirits), the power of Pachamama, and my profound love for the Andes inspire me to guide groups on transformative trekking adventures.
With a lifetime of hiking, trekking, and rock and ice climbing experience, I believe the mountains offer unparalleled opportunities for connection and renewal.
After countless epic adventures in the Andes and over two decades of travel across Latin America, I consider these experiences my most valuable degrees. While I have immersed myself in the languages and cultures of South America, as someone born in North America, I also deeply understand the peaks and valleys of our shared human experience.
Outside of Peru and New England, I have facilitated for Sol Roots Retreats in Florida; completed coursework in Trauma-Informed Plant Medicine Facilitation with Atira Tan of Aya Healing Retreats; and served as Intake Coordinator for The Church of the Natural Law, where I co-facilitated in New York. At times, I serve as an Integration Specialist for MindLeap Health.
During ceremony and integration, I emphasize acceptance and presence.
I look forward to meeting you!
